Throughout, "Bearback," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Bearback, based in Anaheim, California.</p>
<p>Bearback is built to welcome all tribes. We believe everyone deserves a place where they can be themselves, and protecting your privacy is part of that commitment. We only collect the information we need to operate our shop and community, improve your experience, keep the Services secure, and provide the features you choose to use. <strong>We do not sell your personal information.</strong> As the Bearback universe grows, this Privacy Policy may evolve too, but we'll always keep the latest version available here so you know exactly how your information is handled.</p>

<p>We collect information you give us directly, information created when you use the Services, and information from a few trusted partners who help us operate.</p>

<li>Order and shipping details — the products you buy, your shipping address, and order history.</li>
<li>Payment details — processed securely by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, or Klarna). We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.</li>
<li>Tribe profile and membership details — your username, profile information, membership or subscription tier, and anything you choose to post or share in the community.</li>
<li>Age-verification information — where required, information used to confirm you meet the minimum age for that Service. This is typically handled by a trusted third-party verification provider on our behalf.</li>
<li>Communications — messages you send us, including support emails, chat messages, reviews, feedback, and communications with Bruce.</li>

<p><strong>Information you choose to share publicly:</strong> Posts, Stories, comments, reviews, profile information, and other content you choose to make visible may be seen by other members according to your privacy settings.</p>
<p><strong>Information collected automatically:</strong></p>

<li>Device and usage data — information such as your IP address, browser, device type, operating system, app version, pages or screens viewed, and how you interact with the Services so we can improve performance, troubleshoot issues, personalize your experience, and help keep your account secure.</li>
<li>Location information — if you enable features such as Nearby, we collect your device location only with your permission. Your exact location is never shared with other members. Instead, we display approximate distances and other privacy protections designed to help keep you safe.</li>
<li>Wearable interactions — if you choose to use optional Bearback wearable accessories, we may record information related to band taps, verified connections, rewards, and other wearable features needed to provide those Services.</li>

<p><strong>Information from Bruce (our automated assistant):</strong> Bruce only processes the information you choose to share so he can answer questions, help you navigate the Services, and provide AI-powered features. Avoid sharing highly sensitive information, such as financial account numbers or medical information, because Bruce doesn't need it to help you. Your conversations may be securely processed by trusted AI service providers solely to generate responses and provide the features you choose to use. We do not use your private conversations with Bruce or other members to publicly train AI models.</p>
<h3>2. How We Use Your Information</h3>
<p>We use your information to:</p>

<li>Process and deliver your orders, and provide customer support.</li>
<li>Create and manage your account, Tribe profile, and membership or subscription.</li>
<li>Confirm eligibility and age where required.</li>
<li>Operate, personalize, and improve the Services, including Bruce.</li>
<li>Send you transactional messages (such as order updates) and, with your consent, marketing communications you can opt out of at any time.</li>
<li>Keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.</li>
<li>Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.</li>

<p>We use cookies and similar technologies (such as cookies, pixels, and web beacons) to keep the Services working properly, remember your preferences, understand how people use Bearback, improve performance, measure the effectiveness of features, and, where you've chosen to receive marketing, help personalize that experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through our cookie banner. Some features may not function properly without certain cookies.</p>

<p><strong>We do not sell your personal information.</strong> We share it only in these situations:</p>

<li><strong>Service providers</strong> who help us operate — for example, Shopify (our commerce platform), payment processors, shipping providers, package-protection services (such as Route), age-verification providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, AI providers that power Bruce, email providers, and other trusted vendors who help us deliver the Services. They may only use your information to provide services on our behalf.</li>
<li><strong>Legal and safety</strong> — when required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Bearback, our community, or others.</li>
<li><strong>Business transfers</strong> — if Bearback is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a substantially similar privacy commitment.</li>
<li><strong>With your consent</strong> — any other sharing you direct or explicitly approve.</li>

<h3>5. How Long We Keep Your Information</h3>
<p>We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. If your account is closed, we generally retain account information for up to 24 months so we can respond to support requests, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and restore an account if you request it. Certain information, such as tax, accounting, or order records, may be retained longer where required or permitted by law. When we no longer need your information, we securely delete, anonymize, or isolate it until deletion is possible, such as in encrypted backups.</p>

<p><strong>California Residents:</strong> Under California law, you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, request deletion of eligible information, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Bearback does not sell your personal information.</p>
<h3>7. Do Not Track</h3>
<p>Some web browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is currently no universally accepted standard for responding to these signals, Bearback does not currently respond to them. If an industry standard is adopted in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.</p>
<h3>8. Age Requirements & Children's Privacy</h3>
<p>Our Services are designed for adults. The Bearback Shop is intended for individuals <strong>18 years of age or older</strong>. Bearback Tribe is intended for individuals <strong>21 years of age or older</strong>. Where required, we or one of our trusted verification partners may ask you to verify your age before granting access to certain features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under these minimum ages. If you believe someone under the applicable age has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.</p>
<h3>9. Data Storage & International Transfers</h3>
<p>Our Services and many of our trusted providers operate from the <strong>United States</strong>. If you access Bearback from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
